"I don't need you to care, I don't need you to understand...."

"We thought those days would never end..."

Okay...

Emily was home for the weekend but, since ol' tropical depression Bill decided to visit, our outdoor activities had to be amended.  That meant thrifting!!  No one is going to complain about that!

First stop was at SAAP's Rummage Sale.  How freaking cute is this little dog??  Her name is Gabby.

We hit several Goodwills and a St. Vincent de Paul.  These babies were in the parking lot of one store.  I had to hike through swamplands to take these!  Shrooms...

We also drove through the California Golf Course so we could see the reservoirs.  This sign was there...although, now that I have seen the bottom line, I don't think it's very PC.  The dairy where we bought milk when I was a kid had something similar...but they kind of referred to it as an old farmers' saying.

And I'm having a tree fetish...maybe I'm druid.

Pappy spotted these gorgeous flowers in the bed across the street from his house.

Campanula.

AND...the pièce de résistance...pure indulgence.  Decadence.  Thank you, Pappy.  (There was leftover icing which Pappy and I used to dip our doughnuts in the next morning...is that a bad thing?)

"I was waiting on a different story..."

And now...the rest of the story.  I have more photos than I realized, so I'm going to get right to the chase.

An abandoned KitKat...this is almost sacrilegious.  The 5 second rule would have counted for sure.  The fact that I haven't had chocolate candy since 1996 - well, this just breaks my heart...

Off to the movies...and me posting naughty pics...hey! I'm not making any money off them...

And some architecture from this huge, empty garage in Newport.  I love this building...

Echinacea...

Clematis...(when I was a kid, I used these as floral decorations in Barbie's house)

Now I guess I HAVE to learn to crochet...

Panera...tomato soup soothes your soul...

It's the company you keep...

Hibiscus...

Mandevilla...

Easter Lily...(yes...they're supposed to bloom in June/July)

And finally, the sights I see when I'm trapped in accident traffic (and contemplating if I could actually just run away - for reals)...

Mama said there'd be days like this...

Well...

It's been one of those weeks - again.  This time, my new supervisor told me I was rude.  For real?  I don't think I have ever - except for my immediate family (and one friend) - had someone tell me I am rude.  I have basically been in some type of customer service role since I was 13 years old.  That cut me to the quick.  And me, being me, just sat there and took it.

Oh well...the event just prodded me off my keister to get back on track with the job hunt.  Cross your fingers...I applied to several positions.

I have more photos than I want to post today, so I am going to break them up a little.  I feel like I haven't been paying as much attention as I prefer to my surroundings.  I get Chuck out to play, but it seems like I am seeing everything from a different angle.  I'm not so sure I like it.  Let's see if I can get back in the groove.

I saw these when I stopped to get my Starbucks the other day...the bee was just a happy accident...

Pappy, Mara and I were finally able to spend a couple of days at the pool.  It's officially time for the 2nd Annual "Best Tan" competition.  We'll see who wins this year...

Some things caught my eye when I was supposed to be sun-bathing.  This is the pergola and the fence at the pool.  Making my brain crazy while I was sitting there...

Then I saw this little splotch of color on the fence post...looks like a dragonfly wing...

For the life of me I cannot figure out where I took this photo.  I normally know exactly where I took each photo and what I was doing at that time.  (Old age has set in.)  I has to be when we were out thrifting last week.

I made another find of the year!  I bought the same Manfrotto/Bogan tripod legs and head as the one I already own.  I paid almost $200.00 for mine and I found this one for $10 bucks!  Holy crap!  The new one is in even better shape, too!

More Legos...

And then these photos of the rain Wednesday morning...it was coming down so hard I had to pull into a parking lot in Erlanger.  (Not really, I pulled in to drown my "rude" sorrows in a piece of birthday cake I bought at Emerson's Bakery.  The ladies there assured me I am very nice.)

"Don't make me close one more door...."

So...

Here are Monday's and Tuesday's observances.  It was a little cloudy and rainy so I tried my best.

Just remember that it's a grand illusion, And deep inside we're all the same...

So....

Without further ado, here are the rest of last week's photos.

I guess since we visited my Dad's mom's church, it's only right that we visited his dad's church as well.  When he attended mass here, it was called St. Boniface...I'm not really sure what the name is now - or even what denomination it is.  It's still a gorgeous piece of architecture, nonetheless.

After our rigorous morning of yard-sale-ing, we drove around Ludlow looking at "stuff"

and then stopped for lunch at Frisch's in Covington.

This is the building across the street...

And this jerk...wow...you have a Lincoln.  I'm impressed.........

On Sunday, we decided to take Penny to the Otto Armleder dog park on Wooster Pike.  (I really just wanted to hunt for fossils and chert in the river.)  Aviation Days were still going on at Lunken Airport and the WWII B-17 bomber, the "Aluminum Overcast", was selling rides - and the dog park is not too far from the runway...so we got to see this.

Could you imagine seeing a whole squadron of these planes flying overhead?

Here are some of the doggies at the park...I'm not really a "dog person" but I petted a few of them...and left with a bunch of spit on my hands.

Almost had a couple of dust-ups...

This little guy was getting amorous with anybody who stood still long enough...

Ms. Penny!!

"Yeah, okay, I'm ready to go..."

Puppy paw...

Pappy paw...

Roots...

We headed over to the Little Miami (finally!) and when I was on the path to the river I happened to look up and see this guy...Mara named him Jafar...

It took some convincing - and Mara wading in - to get Penny in the water...

Obviously, not everybody needs convincing...

We were under attack...or at least it looked and sounded like it...

Mara found this little guy...and named him Buttons...

On the way back up the path, Jafar was nowhere to be found.  Pappy suggested he was on his way down to the river - to have some Buttons for dinner.
