“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it” ~Confucius

Well doggies...

I guess I am going to spend several days working on these cemetery photos.  We DID visit three of them yesterday - Calvary Cemetery, United Jewish Cemetery and Walnut Hills Cemetery.

I am a little obsessed...

The architecture and monuments are beyond words.  Cincinnati was home to some of the most talented stone masons in the world.  Take a look at the buildings and architecture in this area - gorgeous.  And think about what skill is involved in carving just one of the monuments in any of the cemeteries.  Makes my heart go pitter-patter.

Well, lets get on with it.  This first batch is from Calvary Cemetery on Duck Creek Road.  Pretty place with the creepiest building.  We weren't sure if it was the chapel or not, but the rear of the building butted up against a large mound, almost like it had an underground backroom.  The most disturbing thing was the chimney-like air vent in the middle of the mound.  I think I'll research that one.

We didn't encounter very many "girls" the whole trip, either.  "Girls" are my way of chatting up the female figures.  Yeah, yeah...I talk to the statues.

The variety of trees we found was exceptional, also.  I can imagine some of them were well over 100 years old.  It's amazing that you can drive by an area so many times and not realize what it contains.  Even though we were right by the expressway, it was like we were transported to a magical space.

So much beauty and wildlife is contained within the boundaries of a cemetery.  Everyone should visit, just for that experience alone.

Alright, Alright, Alright....

Oh yeah....

We had some adventures today!!  Mara, Pappy and I visited three new (to me) cemeteries.  The drawback to that is...I took 350 photos.  Soooo...bear with me, we're going to see LOTS of cemetery stuff the next couple of days.

Sorry.

(Not really.)  First, I have a couple of photos I took yesterday.  I'll get those out of the way now as it might take me all night to process the others.  My chair at the computer is kind of short and I've found myself tilting my head way back to see through my bifocals.  Ouch-y.

Here we go...

"Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping" ~Paul Simon

So...

Nothing spectacular has happened in the past 2 days.  Believe me, I am NOT complaining.  I think I have slept more in the past 2-1/2 weeks than I have in the past 8 years.  Not that I am exaggerating....okay - maybe a little.  But, I have been sleeping at least twice as much as I was each day.  And, at my age, this is a good thing.

I have also been watching a little bit of my television shows - at their regular times!

Mmmm...Severide...

I have been reading like a fiend, too - I think I have read 7 or 8 books in the past 3 days.  Easily.

Last week, Mara and I went to one of the Kroger's in Cold Spring and I found some new flavors of those Sparking Ice drinks that are a dollar.  Holy crap they're tasty.  My new favorite is Cherry Limeade.  Oh, myyyy.  I also have a nasty (gross) habit of eating lemons - kind of like an apple or an orange.  The whole thing - except the peel.  Delicious.

Well, today was another errand day and it was yucky and overcast but the clouds were pretty cool.  Other than that, I've been just hanging out (in my jammies).  I didn't even fix my hair when we went out today (I DID take a shower).  Slacker.

See ya...

"At My Age, One Must Ration One's Excitement..."

Holy.  Crap.

How many people do you know who injures themselves while attending CPR class?  Well...you know at least one.

Tada!

It should be against the rules that a 35yr old (okay....17x's), overweight chick would be required to wallow around on the floor making out with a dummy (Shush, Mara).  I did that crap back in my early 20's!

For real, though.  I am not able to spend any time on my knees.  It really hurts!  I fell, waaaay back when, and cracked my knee-cap (remember that, Emily?  You were going to get out of the car to pick me up.  Bahahahaha!!).  And to put that much weight on my wrists for 30 compressions - over and over and over - is going to cause some damage.  (This is the same wrist I had operated on back in the 80's)

I have a boo-boo!  My left wrist is killing me!  And I think I'm going to have bruises on my knees!  And I didn't even get a kiss from the dummy!  (We had to use masks...)

Every time I try to climb in my bed, I zing my wrist...then I try to catch myself by propping my knee on the mattress and I zing myself again!  I had to take two Aleves.  Getting old sucks.

I'm whining...can you tell?

At least I was able to take a few photos before my body seized up.  Sadly, no pics of the dummy.  Chuck weighs a ton, so I have to be careful...no way do I want to carry my tripod to shoot off of...that thing weighs a bazillion pounds!

After being tortured for almost 8 (EIGHT!) hours of CPR training, I sneaked up the street - oops - to Ikea to get a couple of shelves for my room and then hit Target for some Commands Strips.  At least I was able to capture a few good shots.

Creeper!!!

Aaron Siskind...

Sphe....Balls!!

I'll be all stove-up tomorrow.  Hopefully, I won't have to milk this one for "too" long.

Hundred Bottles of Beer on the Wall, Hundred Bottles of Beer...

WooHoo!

This is my 100th post!  I am honestly impressed with myself.  Never figured I would stick it out this far.  Thank you for looking at my photos.  It means a lot.  Seriously.

I have been out and about, taking a few photos here and there.  Sometimes, though, I feel like I've taken some of the same shots over and over.  I am seeing much more of my surroundings - more aware.  Frequently, my main problem arises when I see a cool shot, but I'm driving.  I am sincerely attempting to wean myself from taking photos while I behind the wheel.  So far, so good.  It just means that I have to make some hinky "turn arounds" so I can go back and capture what I saw.  I'm a maniac.

Well...here are my adventures from this weekend.

Feasting on the absurd amount of flies on the front walk.

Gone Girl...movie made me almost as angry as the book...but it was a very good movie.

Gettin' comfy...

Lights...

Dinner after the movie - my first beer in a restaurant in at least 25 years...mmmm...

Red rose that looks like a head of cabbage in B&W (weird)...

Pink rose...

Bride of Frankenstein...

Freddy...stuff of my nightmares...

Pumpkins...

Passy...someone is going to have a REALLY bad night...
