Lazy is a very strong word, I like it to call it selective participation....

So...

Pappy, Mara and I went on a short adventure Monday to pick up an antique desk I bought at auction for the Living Room Make-Over.  The walls are painted and Mara knows what kind of curtains she wants and the Flooring Dude will be there this week to measure for the new laminate/hardwood floor.  It's exciting!  Pappy already bought a gorgeous buffet from Craigslist to use as a television stand.  We're also changing all of the artwork but nothing can be hung yet since the stupid humidity is still making the walls a little tacky.  Pappy has picked out a Shepard Fairey to hang over the fireplace.  Cool!  I have a bunch of new stuff to choose from...it pays to shop at Goodwill and eBay.

Well...here are a couple of photos from the adventure...

We actually passed by this barn initially and I had Pappy turn around so I could get my shot.  (I need to get back on track.)

Then we stopped at the Farmer's Market and picked up some Free Range Eggs and a few zucchinis.  Pound cake and zucchini bread in my future.  :)  These heirloom tomatoes are gorgeous...or should the really fancy ones be called "toe-MAH-toes"...

And here is yet ANOTHER breakfast-y photo...the drive thru at you-know-where...I had an Egg White Delight - no meat.

I saw this reflection while I was busily trying to consume my naughty breakfast as fast as possible (the sammich wasn't the naughty part...the Caramel FrappĂ© I bought to wash it down kinda was...).  It took me a second to figure out what it was and when a car went past even more colors were added.  It's the Post Office in Florence.

Weird but cool.

AND...as you can see...still no soccer photos.

“Remember the days when you let your child have some chocolate if he finished his cereal? Now, chocolate is one of the cereals.” ― Robert Orben

Ok...

So...just so everybody is on the same page...

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY do not like my job.

Just had to get that off my chest.

And now, the rest of the story.  Here are more of my photos from the past month (or so).  (I think tomorrow I may post some of the FC Cincinnati vs. Crystal Palace soccer match photos that I seem to have been too lazy to edit, process and post.  Go figure.)

What is it with the IHoP-ing?  (The new Salted Carmel-Banana-Cris-Croissant thingy is DELICIOUS!)

Well...these two photos are yet ANOTHER breakfast stop...parked in the car stuffing Servatti's down my gullet...watching the morning sun on the ornamental grasses...

And....yet ANOTHER breakfast photo...this time Pappy was with me at Frisch's...see how I was eyeing the Chocolate Cream Pie through the plants?  Pap put the kibosh on that one.  No pie for me.  (But...it was calling my name!)

Lizards...

Phone poles...

And construction equipment....

Teeth?  Claws?

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"

"What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"

"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.”

"I better read between the lines, In case I need it when I'm older..."

Well...

Check these out!!  I shot these yesterday morning...with my cellphone!!  I bought a little macro lens for my phone that is really cool!  Now, all I need to do is work on holding the phone steady enough to get a crisp(er) shot.

Raindrops on the hydrangea bush...

AND...now this is stuck in my head!!  That's what I get for having an impromptu '80's YouTube Concert this afternoon with Mara...

Geez.

If I have to, I can face anything, I am strong, I am invincible....

Ta-Da...

Okay.  So I've been slacking...again.  No excuses.  Well..maybe some.  My leg has really been bothering me, and it's been ridiculously hot and humid, and I'm lazy.  REALLY lazy.  But, my leg actually has been bothering me.  I had my yearly check-up with my family doctor (who put me on another medication - to stave off the dreaded impending Diabetes II) and he gave me a referral to an Orthopedic doctor.  Well...x-rays were taken and the results were about as I expected.  No cartilage (bone on bone), more arthritis and lots of bone spurs in my right knee.  The left one isn't much better.  So, I chose to receive cortisone shot (Holy. Crap.) and yet ANOTHER prescription.  That is 6 now.  I'm gonna rattle when I walk.  Geez.  Oh well.  And let me tell you...don't let anyone EVER tell you that a cortisone shot doesn't hurt.  The injection wasn't bad...it was the aftermath.  By the time I left for work that night, my knee was so stiff and swollen I could barely walk.  I was in tears trying to complete my patrol and make it to the restroom.  Then, I had to make it from my car into the house and into bed.  It was so bad I even left Chuck sitting at the bottom of the stairs.  My leg feels much better now - well as much as it ever will again - but, if I opt for another injection, I'll be taking the night off.

Now, here are a few photos I happened to take this past month.  Just a few, though.

The hibiscus in our front yard...

Mellow Mushroom party deck...

I seem to be IHopping a lot lately.

I saw this on a Pokemon-ing adventure (I have since found a waaaay better game - Two Dots)...

And I purchased a wide angle/macro lens for my cellphone...and received a Stowaway-a-saurus!!  Meet my new buddy, Phil!
